Our Company

Since 1977, our team has been unified by our values and our commitments to achieve the company’s goals. In 2018, Standard Oil Company moved to a holding company structured under LLC entity, which is a direct, wholly owned private company. Headquartered in Covina, California, Standard Oil Company was incorporated in 2018 for the purpose of exploring and developing oil and natural gas prospects. Throughout the last 10-plus years, our primary activity at Standard has been drilling and completing oil and gas wells in Kern Front Oil Area and nearby areas by acting as general partner for limited partnerships as well as operator for joint ventures. In recent years, the Tertiary Stratigraphy of the San Joaquin Valley, specifically in the Formations of Chanac, Santa Margarita, Etchegoin, Kern River and Vedder Sand, the exploration and infrastructure build out has been on the rise, so we’ve shifted our focus to provide additional support within this sector.

Standard Oil Company Today

Since early 1977, Standard Oil Company has owned and operated over 150 conventional Clinton wells and unconventional oil and gas wells, expanded to include a field office in Bakersfield, CA. By understanding the ins and outs of the oil and gas industry through having experience as an Exploration and Production company, Summit identified there was a fit and need in offering Production and Pipeline Operating services to other Exploration and Production companies. As a contracted well service provider, Summit brought its expertise to others in the San Joaquin Valley region. This includes pipeline operations, such as midstream, transmission, gathering, and distribution, along with upstream production-related services within the oil and natural gas industry.

At Standard Oil Company, we’re continuously growing our business in the American oil and gas industry with sights set on expanding our footprint throughout the San Joaquin Valley. Growing the Chanac, Etchogoin, Santa Margarita and Vedder Sands business is an ongoing effort. We are always looking for opportunities to expand our existing operations and capacity. Either through partnerships or joint ventures, we are open to exploring opportunities in the existing market worldwide. We believe in building strong partnerships and finding innovative and efficient solutions without compromising safety or environmental responsibility.

Standard Oil Company LLC offers upstream production operations throughout the San Joaquin Valley. The services provided in the well operations include complete maintenance and management of the well pads. Standard Oil Company’s highly trained operators are available 24/7 and our experienced crews provide complete knowledge and operations ensuring all gauges, valves, and well pad equipment are in good condition and functioning order. Standard Oil Company LLC operates and maintains over 150 wells in San Joaquin Valley and has more than 20 years’ experience in production operations.

Our lease operators are trained to safely handle all maintenance and repairs of compressors, meters, and other well components, such as pressure and flow readings. Our goal is to efficiently manage production operations

Pipeline Operations

Standard Oil Company Pipeline Operations tasks start at the well head and continue through the pipeline to the end user. Standard Oil Company offers 24/7 operating services with highly trained operators who efficiently manage transmission, gathering, distribution and midstream pipeline operations. We maintain hundreds of miles of pipelines and our operators are OQ qualified, understanding the operational and regulatory compliance requirements of pipeline owners. Pipeline maintenance is a top priority, ensuring we follow all regulatory compliance issues, including pigging, pipeline locating, cathodic protection surveys, and leak surveys. Additional operations include class location surveys, using the NPMS (National Pipeline Mapping System) to provide updates, as well as pipeline location and capacities. All operators are equipped with the necessary tools, vehicles, and PPE. Safety is most important when managing any aspect of pipeline operations and maintenance.

Oil Recovery

Original Oil ln Place (OOIP) in the Kem Front field has been estimated to be between 600 to 700 million barrels. Of this, 250 million barrels have been recovered to date. Most of the field is being steamed either by cyclic steaming or steam flood, and recovery efficiency in the better areas of the field is reported to be from 50 to 60 percent of OOlP.

The Midway-Sunset Oil Field is a large oil field in Kern County San Joaquin Valley, California. It is the largest known oilfield in California and the third largest in the United States. The field was discovered in 1894, and through the end of 2020 had produced close to 4 billion barrels.
